The former Labor Party gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 elections in Lagos has criticized the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd) and National Security Advisor (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, for accompanying President Bola Tinubu on his recent visit to the UK.
Rhodes-Vivour in an interview on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, said the security chief was drinking tea in England while the bomb exploded in Borno State.
The politician who recently dumped Lanour’s Party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) regretted his statement that it was “embarrassing” for the security chief to join the president on the visit, considering the challenges faced in his country.
Ripples Nigeria reports that there was a bomb explosion in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State shortly before President Bola Tinubu’s visit to the UK.

The President was accompanied by Generals Musa, rtd, and Ribadu, as well as many others.
Rhodes-Vivour said, “In relation to the trip to England, the thing that caught my attention was how the NSA and the defense bosses were in England, sipping coffee, sipping tea while bombs went off in Maiduguri.
“The NSA and Defense Minister were part of Tinubu’s delegation to the UK for a State Visit.
“This comes at a time when bombs killed around 23 people and injured and displaced many more. I cannot accept the insensitivity and recklessness of this government. Sipping tea while all this is happening is truly disgraceful.”
