The 16th Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi II has urged the Federal Government to support him in providing a permanent solution to the problems faced by the Fulani people in Nigeria.
The king made the call yesterday while receiving the leader of the Nigerian Fulani group, Tapital Pulaku Njode Jam, at his palace.
He said the Fulani had suffered severe attacks, isolation, killings and destruction, including the theft of their cattle, across the country.
However, he admitted that there were evil people among those involved in the bloodshed crisis with farmers in the country.
Sanusi said: βHowever, this can only be done if the Federal Government gives me full support to achieve my mission because they have the power and what it takes to make my strategy work, while I will provide the ideas and methodology on how to do it.
βThere is no doubt that the Fulani people in Nigeria have been suffering from severe attacks, isolation, killings and destruction and theft of their cattle, this rejection is indeed happening all over the country, and something needs to be done to stop this situation.
βHowever, it is not untrue that there are evil people among the Fulani people who have tarnished the good name of the community and made them the target of suffering as it is now.

βIt is time for the government to come together with us to have a permanent solution to the crisis, especially between them and the farmers and also when they are suspected of committing other crimes.
βI myself am ready to assist the government to achieve its desired mission, which is to create peace and prosperity among the Fulani and other Nigerians. Their suffering must end. I am sure together we will do it.β
Speaking, Fulani leader Madibo Jada said they were at the palace to extend their hand of loyalty to the Emir for his second return as their leader.
“Our members mostly live in the bushes, and if I were to ask only the youth wing of our group to come here today, this palace would be too small for us. We have members in all the 36 states in Nigeria,” Jada said.
