Reflecting on the tournament, Kalos commended the organization, location, and the evident improvement in gameplay.

In an interview with Sports247, he highlighted the club’s journey, stating, “Last year we were here, and we came second. For us to win this year, it shows that we have put in a lot of work to win.”

Kalos acknowledged the challenging competition, noting that teams that defeated them the previous year were unable to replicate their success.

“Every victory is sweet,” Kalos expressed, emphasizing the joy and gratitude felt by the Accra Rugby Club for their achievement.

He credited the team’s hard work and dedication, emphasizing the significance of small wins in their sporting journey.

Looking ahead, Kalos shared insights into the club’s future plans. He revealed their preparations for upcoming international matches, including travels to Botswana and hosting teams from Abidjan and other locations.

The intention is to foster more friendly matches, contributing to the growth of club rugby in West Africa.

Emphasizing the character-building aspects of rugby, Kalos recommended the sport, especially for children in schools.

He underscored rugby’s ability to instil teamwork and discipline in players. However, he acknowledged the challenge of rugby receiving limited recognition compared to football in Africa, expressing hope for increased awareness and support for the sport.

Kalos humorously highlighted the club’s connection to Nigeria, being “Nigerian-Ghanians.” He expressed the desire for rugby to garner more recognition and support, envisioning a future where rugby tournaments could be hosted in prominent stadiums, such as the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

Emmanuel Kalos extended appreciation to their sponsors, Beaufort Properties and Aqua Africa, for their support throughout the tournament journey.
