One of the most pressing challenges we face today is the inadequate waste management system in our cities. The sheer volume of solid waste competing with humans for space has serious health implications. A simple drive through city centers, especially market areas, reveals an alarming concentration of solid waste on sidewalks, pavements and in the vicinity.

Although waste generation is an integral part of human existence globally, effective waste management is the responsibility of governments. It requires a willingness to work with citizens, ensuring proper waste collection, provision of bins, designated local landfills, specialized disposal vehicles, large landfills with segregation capacity, incinerators and trained professionals.

Senator Monday Okpebholo, the APC candidate, has the experience and vision to create clean cities that meet the aspirations of the people. By voting for him as our next executive governor, we can:
