Protests organized by some Nigerian citizen groups to express their discontent over hunger and other social challenges caused by the Tinubu administration’s policy initiatives have been marred by violence that has left scores dead and properties destroyed in many states across the country.
At least four states, including Kano and Borno States, have imposed curfews after rioters hijacked peaceful protests in the states.
#EndBadGovernance protesters are demanding the restoration of fuel subsidies and the foreign exchange regime, solutions to food shortages, unemployment and wasteful spending by government officials.
Other demands include immediate reform of the National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
