Chelsea kept the courage in the race for the qualification of the Champions League while the header of the second half of Marc Cucurella obtained a 1-0 victory over Manchester United to send them fourth.
The pressure was active for Chelsea after Aston Villa beat Tottenham, a result that would have moved them over the part of Enzo Maresca if they had dropped points but, after a wait for the turning point, Captain Reece James created Cucurella with a beautiful turning point and cross.
Chelsea will be at least among the first five when they go to Nottingham Forest in their last game of the championship season on May 25th. The victory at the City Ground would guarantee a return to the Champions League after two years.
The United has now lost 18 games in the championship this season and have not yet reached 40 points, usually the goal for the teams to avoid relegation, with a single game left against Villa. Everything is riding in Wednesday’s Europa League final against Tottenham.
