Ese Brume Secures Bronze in Xiamen DL after Budapest Setback

Brume, 27, had been considered Nigeria’s brightest hope for a medal in Budapest but finished fourth in the final.

Despite recording a season’s best jump of 6.84 meters, it wasn’t enough to secure a podium finish for the Nigerian.

However, Brume made an impressive comeback at the Xiamen Diamond League in China.

She achieved a jump of 6.71 meters (-0.6), which earned her the third position on the podium.

The gold medal was claimed by World Champion, Serbia’s Ivana Vuleta, who jumped 6.88 meters, while Marthe Koala from Burkina Faso secured the silver with a jump of 6.79 meters.
