A former Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretary, Sir Rex Onyeabo, was dead.
He is 80 years old.
Putra of the deceased, Dr. Obiora Onyeabo, confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday at Enugu.
He said the former PDP chief died on August 7.
“With a tough heart but thanks to God for the life that was spent well, the Onyeabo family in the state of Enugu announced the passage of our patriarchy and our statesmen, the head (Mr.) Rex Chuma Onyeabo (KSM).
“He is an eze-ugo 1 from the Abuja Igbo community, Onwa Na-Eotili Ora 1 from UGBAWKA, Ijele 1 Na Akaegbe-ugwu, and there is aida from the Efik Kingdom.
“The Head of Rex Onyeabo is a member of the founder of the PDP and served as the National Secretary in 1999 and the PDP Supervisory Board until his death.
“The funeral settings will be announced in time by the family.”

Onyeabor is an engineering alumnus of Carnegie Mellon University in the United States.
He served in various capacities both at the federal and state levels, including: Deputy Chairperson, Government Council, Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), and Chair, Government Council, Education Hospital, Ahmadu Bello University.
The deceased was also the Chairperson, the Calabar University Education Hospital and the Chairperson, Nike Lake Resort Hotels Enugu, among others.
