Ex-Prisoner Arrested for Theft 3 Days After Release from Jigawa Prison – TrendyNewsReporters

Jigawa state police have arrested a former inmate, Mohd Ibrahim, for conspiracy, trespassing and theft, three days after he was released from prison for the same offence.

The command’s spokesperson, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, said that the suspect was arrested along with two accomplices, Hassan Shehu and Salman Ibrahim.

According to the PPRO, Mohd Ibrahim, who was released from Kazaure remand on June 22, on June 25 broke into the residence of one Shehu Umar along with one of the suspects and stole a laptop and a phone worth N750,000 and N130,000.00 respectively.

“On 25/06/2024, at approximately 8:30 pm, reliable and actionable information led detectives from Kazaure Division to Katoge Ward, Kazaure LGA and re-arrested one Mohd Ibrahim, 22, from Yammakada Ward, Kazaure LGA, and Hassan Shehu, 25, same address, and also Salman Ibrahim, 28, from Kanti Ward, Kazaure LGA (receiver),” the statement read.

“The said Mohd Ibrahim was released from the Kazaure Correctional Custody, on 22/06/2024 for the alleged case of housebreaking and theft, but unfortunately, he and another on 24/06/2024 at about 11.30pm, broke into the residence of one Shehu Umar ‘m’ aged 27 years of Katoge neighborhood and stole a Lenovo laptop worth seven hundred and fifty thousand naira (₦750,000), a Techno Spark 10 worth one hundred and thirty thousand naira (₦130,000.00) and an Itel keyboard of undisclosed value.
