An explosion hit the entrance to the United States embassy in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, early Sunday, prompting a massive response from emergency services. Authorities said no injuries were reported.
According to Norwegian police, emergency crews were sent to the scene at around 01:00 local time (00:00 GMT) after reports of an explosion at the embassy building. The diplomatic mission is located in the Morgedalsvegen district, approximately 7 kilometers (4 miles) outside Oslo city center.
Police said they were deploying “substantial resources” to secure the area and investigate the incident. Officers are currently continuing to communicate with embassy officials to continue the investigation.

Michael Dellemyr, the police officer who led the response operation, told Norway’s public broadcaster NRK that the explosion occurred at the building’s public entrance.
Authorities have not determined the exact cause of the explosion or identified anyone who may have been involved.
Local media reports indicated that the embassy suffered minor damage from the blast. The building remains under police guard as investigators examine the site.
So far the US Embassy has not issued a public statement regarding this incident. Police said the investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
