The Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, has ruled himself from the opposition coalition led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The Governor made clarification in a statement issued on Saturday by the Director General, Press and Media Affairs at the Yobe State Government Building in Damaturu, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed.
An unnamed group, in a text message, claims that Buni and four Governors of All Progressives Congress (APC) have concluded the arrangement to defect to the Democratic Party (PDP) of the People (PDP) and join the coalition before the 2027 General Election.
However, Buni described the message as an unfounded fabrication, unreasonable imagination, and assumptions that were not in harmony with the reality in any way, form, or form.
“Buni is not an ordinary APC member; He is not only an APC governor. He is APC in all consequences, with APC flowing in his pulse.
“His contribution to building APC as the National Secretary and National Chair of the two periods who led the Party Convention Committee made him unique, and his decision to leave the party could not speculate.
“The writer and paymasters must be interested in Buni’s political intelligence and only hope they have people like the governor. That must be wishful thinking.”
