Fatai Amoo urges early rebuilding of Super Eagles ahead of 2030 World Cup

Fatai Amoo has called for a strategic review of the Super Eagles as preparations begin for future international competitions, including the upcoming African Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

In a chat with Brila.net, Amoo emphasized the need for a long-term vision focused on rebuilding the team by gradually integrating young and talented players.

“With what is coming now we should start injecting new players, young talents, they are still available,” said the former Flying Eagles coach.

“I know that some of these players – if we qualify for the next World Cup – will be able to play thanks to their development.

“If we really want to do something good by qualifying for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, we will start from the next AFCON.”

Next Generation Super Eagles

Amoo stressed that the upcoming matches should not be judged solely on results, but should serve as an opportunity to identify and groom the next generation of players.

“In every game we are playing we should start looking at who will fill the position of our players who are starting to age.”

He further stated that the team’s priority at this stage should shift from immediate results to long-term improvement.

“We have to do it, the results are not what we should be looking for now, but rather we should focus on improving our football so that when we play the World Cup qualifiers we have the team ready.” He concluded.
