Recorded doors and calm rooms tell a story about what happened in the Kanak -Kankanak Heshi Peixin park.
Large scandals in small town, failure that is almost unbelievable, in a place where children should be safe.
As soon as we arrived in the city of Northwest China, it was clear that almost everyone knew someone affected.
After many children were found to have a high level of tin in their blood, the police said the staff in the private sector’s park had added paint powder to food in a clear effort to make it look more attractive.
A total of 233 out of 251 children have an unhealthy level and 201 needs to be treated in hospitals, said local authority.
Two food samples were confiscated and both of them had a lead level of 2000 times a safe legal limit.
Eight people have been arrested, including school principals and financial supporters.
On one road in this city, a series of shops sell clothes and items for babies and toddlers. The women who work there all know the principal and many families are affected. One even worked there.
They told us how troublesome it was to the community.
A woman whispered with tears in her eyes about how a neighbor’s child was found to have tin in her blood at a normal level 38 times.
Lead poisoning at this level can cause long -term injuries to the brain and central nervous system.
What surprised us was how the Taman Kanak -Kankak and his staff so far were the only focus of their anger.
Even more than one person spoke lovingly about the principal, quoting a broad charity and dedication to children.
There may be a big failure in Heshi Peixin, but here they clearly feel there is a failure in the system too.
Indeed, most of the affected families have chosen to go here to find treatment in big cities, especially in Xi’an, the nearest big city, which is four hours away.
We were told several times that the local hospital returned the test to tin which showed a much lower level than in a larger hospital.
‘This is a closing’
In the corner of the road, that’s all they discuss, utilizing venous distrust.
“I don’t know much, but I think this is a closing,” said a woman we met on the side of the road. “I just thought the local government was too dark, they pressed the news.”
Another young mother talked about how she lived in the corner of the Kanak -Kankak Park.
“Who wants to have children? Who dares to send children to Kanak -Kanakak garden?” He asked.
“Now if people send children to elementary school, the first thing they ask is are you safe? Are schools safe? Can it guarantee the personal safety of our children in the future, right?”
There is no clear evidence about the closure, but says that that’s what people expect.
There is a clear anxiety about the fact that we are here. The police intercepted us and arrested us for more than an hour. And maybe it’s not surprising because China The history of the Food Safety Scandal is a painful point.
