FG intervened as a passing, the dangote refinery met in a closed emergency session on labor disputes

The federal government has stepped up to mediate the increase in the rift between the Nigerian Senior Oil and Gas Staff Association (Pengassan) and Dangote Refinery Management, held a closed emergency meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.

The high -level meeting, which is currently taking place in the conference room of the Ministry of Manpower and Employment, was held on an example of the Minister of Manpower and Manpower, ** Mohammad Maigari Dingyadi **, who personally led the Government Negotiations Team.

The delegation of the passing was led by its national president, Camelarad Festus Osifo, accompanied by Secretary General of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Dr. Nuhu Toro, while the leading representative of Dangote Refinery was also present.

The federal government, on Sunday, summoned both parties to the negotiating table after the report of increasing tensions that had triggered industrial actions by trade union members.

The meeting, initially scheduled for 2:00 in the afternoon, finally started at 3:50 due to the arrival of the main stakeholder. After a brief opening comment, the session quickly entered a closed discussion which is expected to last several hours.

In his opening statement before the meeting moved to a private session, Minister Dingyadi underlined the urgency of resolving the crisis, warning that the problem was too important to be ignored.

“What happened today is very popular with our economy and state security. We have been told that the passage is on strike,” Dingyadi said.

The Minister stressed that the government was determined to mediate the resolution that would protect the rights of workers while protecting the country’s economic interests, given the importance of the dangote refinery strategic on Nigerian energy security.

Details of deliberations are expected to be published after the meeting ends, with stakeholders hoping that the agreement will be achieved to end industrial action and prevent further disturbances in the oil and gas sector.
