The Federal Government has announced the immediate reopening of the independence bridge (Ahmadu beautiful Way-Marina Bound) to vehicular traffic.
Recall that the Federal Government had previously decided to keep it closed for over a month.
The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, made the announcement in a declaration issued on Wednesday by the federal manager of the works in Lagos, Mrs. Olukorede Kesha.
The bridge of independence, initially closed on April 1 for the critical backtracks of FG, reopen the independence in the maintenance and rehabilitation of Lagos, should have remained closed until May.
However, Umahi revealed that the main repair works would now be scheduled for a later date.
He assured the commentators that the palliative measures were already underway to ensure that the bridge remained by motor.
Relating the inconvenience caused by the abrupt closure, Umahi appealed to motorists for understanding and cooperation.
