FG working to improve security in all parts of Nigeria – Idris

…He says Tinubu’s reforms are designed to benefit all Nigerians

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has urged Nigerians to remain calm as the federal government is working hard to ensure security in all parts of the country.

Idris made the appeal while speaking to journalists shortly after observing the Jumaat prayer at the Yahaya Road Mosque in Kaduna on Friday.

The minister, who denounced multiple bomb explosions in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, promised that such incidents will never happen again.

He said: “Indeed, our country is being tested as the government is working hard to ensure security in all parts of this country. We have witnessed this happening, especially in Borno state.

“We pray to Allah that this will be the last one, as the government is working seriously to ensure that this kind of incident does not happen again. We must also be very prayerful and work together to ensure that all the challenges we have in this country disappear.”

Idris urged all Muslims and non-Muslims to unite in the interest of development and unity of the country.

“Our message is consistent with that of President Bola Tinubu. He urged all Nigerians to be steadfast, take the lessons of Ramadan and continue to do all the good deeds of Ramadan even after the month of Ramadan.

“It is important for all of us to learn the lessons of Ramadan and ensure that we pray for our country, our leaders and all the people of Nigeria, so that we can have a Nigeria that is prosperous beyond our expectations.”

According to Idris, this is a moment of reflection for all Nigerians.

He said: “Let us pray that all of us will truly look at this moment and see the need for unity, progress and development in our country.

“Nigeria is indeed taking its rightful place and is respected more than ever on the international stage.

“The reforms that the president has instituted, while challenging, are designed to benefit all Nigerians.”

The minister said that all hands must be ready for the unity of the country, stressing: “As we gain respect on the international stage, we also hope and pray for unity in our country.”

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Yahaya Road Mosque, Alhaji Garba Ibrahim, urged Muslim worshipers to imbibe the spirit of discipline, honesty and fear of Allah as taught by the Imam.

He said, “Now, what the Imam said, we must imbibe the spirit of discipline, honesty and fear of Allah. As he mentioned again, last Eid here, there were some people praying Eid here, but today they left.

“None of them will ever return. One day it will be our turn. So we must fulfill our obligations as the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad taught us.

“We must leave a legacy for our children and grandchildren. And this is what is called discipline in the Islamic Ummah.”
