Global Solidarity Fund with a value of $ 250 million
In addition to the award in money for participating clubs, FIFA has introduced a global investment program of unprecedented $ 250 million to support the development of club football worldwide.
Infantino reiterated that FIFA will not retain any funds from the tournament and that all income will be redistributed to the club’s football:
“This solidarity will undoubtedly provide a significant impulse in our continuous efforts to make football really global.”
“Not only that, but FIFA will not retain any funds for this tournament, since all income will be distributed to club football, nor will FIFA reservations touch, which are reserved for the global football development through the 211 associations of FIFA members.”
Manchester City and Chelsea could win Β£ 97 million each

The Premier League Manchester City and Chelsea clubs, which were classified by winning the titles of the UEFA 2021 and 2023 Champions League, respectively, are among the biggest beneficiaries of the record of record awards.
They could win up to Β£ 97 million ($ 125 million) if they win all their games in the format of seven games.
General Awards: Β£ 775 million ($ 1 billion)
Guaranteed Participation Fund: Β£ 407 million ($ 525 million)

FIFA confirms that club profits will be weighted
European clubs will gain more for the participation than the teams of other continents due to the FIFA classification system, based on sports and commercial criteria.

European Tournament and Qualification Format
The Club World Cup was previously an annual event of seven teams, but will now have 32 teams every four years.
12 European clubs have been classified based on the performances of UEFA Champions League in the last four seasons.
Only two clubs per country can qualify.
Liverpool (finalists of 2022 UCL) was not classified due to the rule of two clubs per country, but Chelsea (winners of 2021) and Manchester City (winners of 2023) did.
Other European clubs described according to the UEFA classification system, considering performances for four years.
“The tournament now seems very valuable for bigger clubs”
The success of the Expanded Club World Cup depends on elite clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, who have obtained substantial income for participation.
These clubs will earn a minimum of Β£ 40 million ($ 52 million) if they progress from the group stage and could be pocketed to Β£ 97 million ($ 125 million) to win the tournament.
“The biggest clubs will argue that they are already stretched in terms of the football calendar and the preseason income will be lost, but this tournament now seems very valuable for those involved.”
“That income will give Chelsea and Manchester City more space to stay on the right side of profit and sustainability regulations, but they could distort competition with smaller leagues in Europe and beyond, in the same way as the participation of the Champions League gives the clubs a great financial advantage.”
FIFA: “This tournament will help grow the game”
FIFA argues that the expanded club World Cup will help distribute money beyond Europe and support clubs outside the traditional elite.
However, elite European clubs have taken advantage of their importance in negotiations to ensure a majority of the record awards fund.
Infantino insists that the competition will help to grow the global game while offering unprecedented financial rewards:
“This tournament will help grow the game beyond Europe and distribute money to clubs outside the traditional elite.”
