FIFA Ranking – Super Eagles a place rises, but not yet among the first five of Africa

The Super Eagles of Nigeria achieved an increase in the latest classifications of national teams made by the World FIFA football governing body for the month of March, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.

Nigeria won a 2-0 victory against Rwanda in the World Cup qualifiers, but suffered a late heartbreak to attract 1-1 against Zimbabwe in his field in Uyo, further aggravating his chances of reaching the 2026 World Cup.

The tie against Zimbabwe was expensive in the ranking, since they fell from 1482 points to 1481, which placed them as the 44th football nation in the world.

While the team rose by the classification in global placement, they still remained outside the team of the top five classified in Africa with Morocco in the first place (12th in the world), followed by Senegal (19), Egypt (32), Algeria (33) and Cote D’Avoire (41).
