Finidi aims for continental success with Rivers United

Finidi eyes continental success with Rivers United – Latest Nigeria Sports News

Finidi takes over the role after the tenure of acting Chief Ogenyi Evans, who had temporarily replaced Stanley Eguma.

The appointment comes after a disappointing season for Rivers United, who finished eighth and missed out on CAF football competition for the first time in four years.

Finidi is determined to turn the club’s fortunes around and secure a continental spot next season.

Expressing his gratitude and ambitions at the signing ceremony, Finidi said: “I am honoured to have this opportunity and I thank the Commissioner of Sport, the General Manager and the fans for their trust in me.

“I am committed to working hard and making the team win. The goal is to win games and at least finish in the continent next season.”

Finidi brings a successful track record to Rivers United, having previously led Enyimba to an NPFL title during his three-year tenure with the two-time African champions.

He also had a brief stint as head coach of the Super Eagles.
