Five tourists died in a car crash in Pakistan

Five tourists were killed and one injured in a car accident in the northern Pakistani region of Gilgit Baltistan on Wednesday evening.

Police told reporters on Thursday that the accident occurred in the Naltar valley where tourists were returning home after a tourist trip.

According to police, the tourist’s jeep fell into a deep ravine when the driver tried to negotiate a sharp bend on a dilapidated road in a mountainous area in the valley.

The deceased were members of the same family, and the injured man was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was said to be critical.

Road accidents occur frequently in Pakistan due to poor road conditions, violation of road safety regulations and reckless driving.
