Flying Elang out of the Afcon race after defeat of S’Africa

Nigeria’s flying eagle has missed the opportunity to reach the final of the African U-20 (AFCON) Cup after losing 1-0 to South Africa in a semifinal match on Thursday.

Although playing most of the games on the back foot of South Africa came out of the peak thanks to a Howler by flying Eagles goalkeeper Ajia Jacob, who replaced the injured Ebenezer Harcourt.

This is the first time the South African people will reach the final since the 1997 edition in which they finished second.

The Flying Eagles will now face Morocco or host Egypt in the third play-off on Sunday, May 18 in Cairo.

South Africa will then face the winners of other semifinal ties, in the final competition in Cairo.

The four teams automatically meet the requirements for the U-20 World Cup which was collected to stay at Chile at the end of the year.
