Foil Attack’s troops, kill terrorists in Borno

The Hadin Kai operations forces have thwarted a coordinated terrorist attack on their location in Izge, the Gwoza regional government in Borno, neutralizing several rebels and capturing the main combat equipment.

The attack, which occurred in the early days of Tuesday, was expelled after the exchange of fierce shots which lasted for hours, according to a statement issued by Captain Reuben Kovangiya, Deputy Director of Acting, Army Community Relations, Operations of the Hadin Kai Headquarters Theater Command.

“Brave troops showed a high level of determination, which led to the neutralization of several terrorists, while others fled in chaos,” the statement said.

Kovangiya added that the troops chased terrorists who escaped and neutralized more than seven additional rebels during the exploitation phase.

“The item that was restored from the scene included a PKT automatic engine rifle with an ammunition belt, one motorcycle, and 10 bicycles that were believed to be used for logistics.

“In a separate meeting, another attempt by the attack by terrorists in Mallamforori was also thwarted with terrible consequences for attackers,” he said.

He said that the theater commander praised the dashing troops for their courage and accused them of being vigilant and committed to ensuring the terrorist -free environment in the northeast.
