Former Information Minister Labaran Maku joins SDP

Former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku, has joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa State.

Maku, the former Deputy Governor in Nasarawa, disclosed this while briefing journalists alongside SDP officials in Wakama, Eggon Local Government Area of ​​Nassarawa State on Tuesday.

The former minister said he joined the party to add value and contribute his quota positively to the development of the party in the state and the country at large.

Maku, who explained his achievements including in the fields of employment, empowerment and infrastructure development during his time in government, said he would strive for the party’s victory in 2027.

He said: “Today, I am calling you to tell you that I am pitching my tent with the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

“I voted for SDP in memory of the late MKO Abiola and the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki, the best Senator Nasarawa State ever produced.

”Senator Godiya Akwashiki has his signature on every project in the Nasarawa North Senatorial District community.

“I am proud of him because the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki has performed well.”

Maku also promised to work together with stakeholders and party members by 2027.

“This party is on the ground and is already known by people at the grassroots.

“I came to the SDP to work for the progress and success of the party, and I will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the party wins in 2027,” he added.
