Former President Obasanjo visited First Lady Oluremi Tinubu to celebrate Sallah

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo visited the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in Lagos on Monday to mark the Sallah celebrations.

The visit was confirmed by the First Lady’s spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, who posted a photo of the two leaders on her social media account.

According to Kukoyi, Obasanjo visited the First Lady to convey greetings and congratulate her on the occasion. He wrote, “Former President Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo and First Lady Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Oluremi Tinubu after receiving the Former President who came to congratulate him on the Sallah Celebration on Monday 17th June.”

This visit comes despite Obasanjo’s recent criticism of the policies of the Tinubu administration.

On 27 May, Obasanjo opposed the implementation of the removal of fuel subsidies and the introduction of the naira, stating that while the policies were necessary, they were poorly implemented.

He also expressed his disapproval of Nigeria’s approach to the coup in Niger Republic, while speaking at a colloquium in Abuja at the weekend entitled “Nigeria’s Development: Navigating a Way Out of the Current Economic Crisis and Insecurity.”
