Former Nigeria international midfielder John Ogu says Victor Osimhen has apologised to former Nigeria senior national team coach Finidi George for his Instagram outburst where he criticised the coach with negative words. Own goal Nigeria.com reports.
Osimhen went live on his Instagram page to criticise the manager following reports that the manager had questioned his commitment, following his decision to skip World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic respectively due to a knock he received while playing for his Serie A side Napoli.
Sports Minister Senator John Enoh blocked the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) from imposing a fine and ban on the Napoli striker but privately told Osimhen to apologise, which he did according to Ogu.
“I know Osimhen, even in his U-17 days. I know the boy is a good boy, a boy who is respectful, regardless of who you are,” Ogu said in a video posted on Instagram.
“The moment someone accuses you of something, you can lose control. Some people need to speak their mind or they can’t sleep. He (Osimhen) did. Has he apologized? I’m sure he has.”
