Forum Xiangshan: the Minister of Defense organizes a bilateral meeting with China on technological cooperation

Defense Minister, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, held a high -level bilateral meeting with Marshal Air Xu Xueqiang, Minister, Department of Equipment and Development, People’s Republic of Chinese, on the sidelines of the twelfth Beijing Xianghan Forum, Mati Ali Media Aide has disclosed the minister on Thursday.

According to him, the discussions focused on the advancement of practical cooperation in the transfer of defense technology, in the strengthening of indigenous military production in Nigeria and exploring a wider industrial defense collaboration.

He said: “Both delegations have explored concrete avenues to: strengthen industrial partnerships between Nigerian and Chinese defense producers; to build the technical and institutional capacity within the Nigeria defense sector; improve interoperability through cooperative training, exchange programs and joint projects; and identify areas for feasible and sustainable areas for the transfer of constant sustainable technology with the Nigerian law and

He observed that the meeting reiterates Nigeria’s interest in pursuing practical, transparent and mutually advantageous agreements that will strengthen national defense capacity and support economic and technological development at home.
