Four charged with examination malpractice, imitation during UTME

The police on Thursday charged four people at the Lagos judge court, Ikeja, for alleged examination of malpractice and imitation during the last tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) in the state.

The Defendants – Damilola Rufai (27), Tella Oriyomi (19), Temidayo Williams (20) and Ibrahim Akindele (23) – were charged with imitation, malpractice of examination and crime.

Prosecutor, ASP Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the quartet committed a violation on April 26 at a different examination center in Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, Rufai allegedly came to the examination center to disguise himself as a candidate.

He accused that three other defendants were involved in the examination malpractice and all were arrested in different centers.

However, the defendants claimed to be innocent for the accusation.

Judge Head, Ny. O. O Kushanu provides guarantees to the defendants in the number of N500,000 with two guarantees in the same amount.

He postponed this case until June 16 to be mentioned.
