Gabon’s Nguema appoints the civil cabinet with 10 women

The recent president of Gabon, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, announced the appointment of a government of 30 members led by the Government vice president, Alexandre Barro Chambrier.

According to the presidential decree issued on Monday by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Guy Rossatanga Rignault, the new government includes three state ministers.

The list of nominated presents 10 women, who represent 30 percent of its members.

Among these are Louise Mvono, who previously worked at the Brazzaville World Bank office, the Republic of the Congo, and has now been appointed Minister of Planning and Potential, and former candidate for the Presidency Zenaba Gninga Charing, who has been appointed minister of entrepreneurship and small and medium -sized enterprises.

Henri Claude Oyima, who guides the BGFIBank group, has been appointed Minister of State responsible for economics, budget, public accounts, debt and fight against high cost of living.

In addition, Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi, a former spokesman of the Committee for the transition and restoration of the institutions – the military organ that led the country during the transition, was appointed minister of state for transport and the merchant marine.

Likewise, Camelia Ntoutoume-Leclercq maintains his position as a minister of state for national education, while Regis Onanga Ndiaye remains foreign minister. General Brigitte Onkanowa maintains his position as a minister of national defense and supports Nguema Nguema has been appointed Minister of Petroleum.

Previous Monday, Alexandre Barro Chambrier, 66, was appointed vice president of the government with presidential decree.

This position replaces that of the Prime Minister, abolished pursuant to the new Gabonese Constitution adopted by the referendum on November 16, 2024. The vice -president of the government is mainly responsible for the coordination of government actions.

Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who previously guided the transition government, had been elected leader of the Central Africa country on April 12 with 94.85 percent of the votes.
