The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has denied a campaign poster that appeared on social media stating that he wants to contest for the presidency in 2027 against President Bola Tinubu.
The former governor of Kano state described the poster as fake and malicious.
Ganduje in a statement on Sunday through his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, said that troublemakers were behind the campaign posters.
The poster features Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who will be Ganduje’s running mate.
The statement read: “This is to inform the general public that the poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that the General Chairman of the APC, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, will run for the presidency in 2027 with the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, as his running mate, is completely false and a malicious fake news.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to state categorically that this is the work of mischief-makers, possibly in connivance with certain elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement, who are bent on creating discord between Dr. Ganduje and His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“For the avoidance of doubt, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje remains loyal to President Tinubu and is fully committed to supporting the President’s vision and leadership. Dr. Ganduje is confident that President Tinubu is on the right track to lead Nigeria to greater prosperity and unity.
“We urge the public to ignore these fabricated stories and refrain from spreading unverified information.”
