Gang Attacks Haitian Police Station, Massacres Cops

A notorious Haitian gang has reportedly stormed a police station in the country and massacred dozens of officers.

Reports are emerging that members of a gang led by notorious warlord Jimmy “Barbecue” Cherizier have attacked a police station in Gressier, Port-au-Prince, and killed at least 20 officers. The assault is believed to have begun on Sunday, June 30. Haiti Libre said the attack was carried out by members of the “Vivre Ensemble” gang coalition led by “Barbecue.” Other reports have claimed the Bougoy Gang was involved.

Regarding the police station attack, reports said a “musculat counteroffensive” by police saw several gang members killed. Haiti Libre said Bougoy’s leader, Ti Bébé Bougoy, who had boasted the day before the attack that he was stronger than the police force, had been captured.

It was reported that the bandits were using “heavy machinery” to destroy the police station. This was reportedly seized by the authorities. In June 2022, it was reported that the gang had rounded up homeless people and at-risk teenagers, to use as private soldiers in gang wars
