In a great moral impulse for Ogun state athletes before the Gateway 2024 Games, Governor Dapo Abiodun has presented an integral scheme of cash rewards to recognize and motivate participants and medalists representing the State.
According to a statement published on Saturday, Governor Abiodun reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to promote excellence through tangible support for young talents.

He revealed that each athlete currently in the camp and officially accredited to represent the state of Ogun will receive a reward from ₦ 50,000 within 24 hours, recognizing their hard work and dedication.
“We are proud of each athlete who has described to use the colors of the state of Ogun. They are the best of the best, and we will not let their dedication go unnoticed,” said the governor.
In addition to the stipend of participation, the governor announced substantial cash rewards for medal winning athletes:
Gold medalists will disappear with ₦ 2.5 million each and silver medalists will receive ₦ 1.5 million each, while bronze medalists will be rewarded with ₦ 1 million each.
Governor Abiodun emphasized that his administration is guided by principles of integrity and fulfillment of promises, especially in initiatives aimed at youth empowerment and talent development.
The announcement has caused enthusiasm within the State Sports Community and is widely expected to serve as a powerful incentive for the Athletes of the Ogun team to deliver exceptional performances at the next National Festival.
