Georgia have secured their place in the knockout stages of Euro 2024 after beating Portugal 2-0 in Group F on Wednesday night.
Georgia reached their first knockout stage at the European Championships.
Portugal had won the group, but were shocked in their final group stage game when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia fired a low shot past Diogo Costa to open the scoring in the second minute.

Portugal missed several chances to equalize before Georgia made it 2-0 in the 57th minute through Georges Mikautadze’s penalty.
Cristiano Ronaldo lacked the service to make a difference in the final third. He was substituted late in the match after receiving a yellow card for diving.
Overall, Georgia managed to pull off the biggest Euro upset in history, according to FIFA rankings, and created a memorable night in their debut major tournament.
Meanwhile, Belgium, Romania and Slovakia all reached the knockout stages of Group E, leaving bottom team Ukraine to leave the competition.
