The Washington Spirit striker Brittany Ratcliffe praised the gift of his Nigerian teammate on Monday after the 3-1 victory of the team over the North Carolina courage in the NWSL.
Gift Monday was once again on the score sheet, scoring his fourth goal in just eight games since he joined the team.
His performance helped ensure another vital victory for the spirit improving its growth and impact on the League.
Ratcliffe, who has shared the field with Monday in recent weeks, did not cling to express his admiration for the Nigerian striker, both inside and outside the field.
“In terms of Monday, she is the best. It has been a great addition to the team, obviously, in the contributions she has made in the field. It’s silky,” Ratcliffe said.
“She is really good, a good finalist. But one thing, like some players, is like, oh, they are really good in the ball, but they don’t work hard. But she does everything.”
“She works hard. She defends herself. It is good in the ball. It ends. It brings that energy that does everything. And you can’t talk enough about it.”
Beyond its technical quality, Ratcliffe also praised the personality and spirit of Gift Monday, which have quickly turned it into a loved presence within the team.
“And then, out of the countryside, it’s very funny. He’s always dancing, always smiling. And it’s such a good personality to have.”
“So it has been really great to see that it is not only part of this team, but also obtains the success it deserves.”
“And I hope he goes ahead, because he deserves it. And I am very happy for her.”
The transition from Gift Monday to the NWSL has been perfect, with its actions by praising not only its goal, but also because of its relentless ethics of work, creativity and vibrant presence in the locker room.
