The Governor of the State Edo Mondoy Okpebholo presented 17 new 2025 SUVs to the presidents of the local government to improve the supply of basic services throughout the state.
Okpebholo was reached by the deputy governor, Dennis Idahosa, and by other high officials of the event in Benin, the capital of the Edo state, Saturday 31 May 2025.
Okpebholo stressed that his administration would not interfere with local government funds, adding that he allowed the advice to guide the basic development without constraints.
He criticized the previous administration for having put local governments aside, stating that his government has recognized and enhanced the Presidents of the Council with tools such as new SUVs to better allow the function.
The Governor expressed gratitude to God for allowing the presidents to enjoy the now brand new vehicles, describing it as a sign of progress in Edo’s state.
He said the new development was developed under President Bola Tinubu, stressing that Edo’s state would soon competent in the city such as Lagos and Abuja in terms of growth.
Okpebholo warned the presidents that the SUVs were not for personal use but rigorously for the public service.
Okpebholo has promised to monitor their use among local governments.
