Faith Obazuaye and Bolawa Akingbemisilu added two gold medals to Nigeria account at the ITTF World for Future in Amman, Jordan.
They emerged as champions in the individual events of class 9-10 of women and class 4-5, respectively.

Nigeria joined his medal in the championship when Abiola Adesope secured a silver medal in men’s class 9, while Isau Ogunkunle and Kehinde Lawal also claimed money in their events.
Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Bronze medalist and former medalist of the Commonwealth Games, Kape Oputa, ended with bronze medals in male class 9 and the individual events of class 4-5 of women.
Akingbemisilu triumphed over his compatriot, Ogunkunle, with a 3-2 victory to win the 4-5 male class, while Obazuaye defeated Lawal 3-1 to ensure the female class 9-10 class title. In male class 9, Adesope was surpassed by Iurii Nozdrunov 3-2 in the final, forming with silver.
Agunbiade, who lost to Nozdrunov in the semifinal, took home a bronze medal. Oputa also secured a bronze after a 3-2 defeat against Rusul to the Waeli of Iraq.
With the singles events concluded, the Nigeria team now changes their focus on double events, with the aim of more medals being classified as the best competition team.
On the opening day, the bronze medalist of the Paralympic Games of Tokyo 2020, Olufmi Alabi, said Nigeria’s first gold medal in class 10 of men.
The Nigerian team of eight members, consisting of five men and three women, is in Jordan to win classification points before the African championship at the end of this year.
Sponsored by the National Sports Commission (NSC), this is its first important competition of the year and its first international departure from the Paralympic Games of Paris 2024. The team is trained by Nosiru Sule and Gbenga Olanipekun.
