Golden Eagles lose to Ghana in Wafu B Zone Semis

Ghana’s black star has advanced to the final of the Wafu Zone B U-17 championship after defeating Golden Eaglets from Nigeria 2-0 in the semifinals on Tuesday.

Victory also means that Ghana has assured the qualification for AFCon 2026 U-17 in Morocco.

Michael Awuli opened the scoring in the 21st minute

Ten minutes after the opening goal, Robinho Yao Gavi put on the score sheet to put the 2-0.

To reach the last four of the regional competition, the Golden Eaglets led their group that has Benin Republic and Burkina Faso.

Coach Manu Garba-lidted the side of Benin Republic 4-1 and caught goals with Burkina Faso.

In the other semifinals it was also played on Tuesday, the hosts of Costa d’IVorire surpassed Burkina Faso 2-1 to seal the qualification ticket to the U-17 AFCon next year.
