Coach Mohammed Babaganaru expressed frustration over the teamโ€™s consistent late arrivals at away match venues, citing the detrimental effect on performance.

Compounding the issue, the clubโ€™s bus broke down in Akure, Ondo State, leaving the team in need of urgent financial assistance.

โ€œAt the moment, the bus is at Akure (Ondo State). It broke down on our way back from Akure. We had to hire buses to get to Gombe. We thank God for everything, but we still need the governmentโ€™s aid,โ€ Babaganaru explained.

Babaganaru emphasized the need for government support, particularly in ensuring timely travel arrangements and addressing the challenges posed by the broken-down bus. He appealed for financial assistance, recognizing the importance of proper preparation and rest before matches.

โ€œOn the issue of finance, I still want the government to come to our aid. Most of the time, we travel late, sometimes a day to the match or even on the day of the match.

What I think is good for us is to travel, get there, rest, and do our normal shake-up in the evening a day before the match,โ€ he pleaded.

Despite the travel challenges, Gombe United secured a lone-goal victory against Katsina United. Babaganaru attributed the recent successes to tactical changes within the team, emphasizing that financial motivation was not the driving force behind the improved performances.

โ€œWe have made a lot of changes, and we have started getting our rhythm. Our style of play and formation have been worked on, and fans should expect a good result away from Abia Warriors,โ€ Babaganaru stated.

In addressing controversies, including a disallowed goal, the coach exercised caution in his comments to avoid potential repercussions.

โ€œI will keep appealing to the government to help us. We need their financial help,โ€ Babaganaru reiterated.

Babaganaru appealed to fans to continue supporting and praying for the team despite the challenges. He assured them of the teamโ€™s commitment to sustaining positive changes and delivering exciting performances in upcoming matches.

As Gombe United navigates these travel challenges, the coachโ€™s plea for government support underscores the need for financial assistance to ensure the teamโ€™s logistical readiness for future away games.
