The Governor of the State of Bauchi, Sen Bala Mohammed has announced the N100M contribution to be divided between families consisting of 23 people who lost their lives when armed bandits attacked several villages in the Gwana District, alkaleri LGA from Bauchi State.
The recipient of the Monetary Gestana are 13 members of the vigilante group and 10 civilians who are Fulani’s cattle shepherd whose livestock are carried out by the bandits during the attack.
The governor made an announcement on Thursday when he made a condolence to the families of the victims at the Duguri District Head in the LGA alkaleri.
He explained that every family of thirteen vigilante members will get N5M while each Fulani family will get an N3M number as support for the family at this time of sadness.
Bala Mohammed also announced the number of N20M to members of the vigilante group in the area that explained that the N10M was for them to get the tools needed for their operations while the N10M was a direct welfare for them all.
In addition, the governor announced that 500 of them would be offered permanent work and placed on the minimum wage of N70,000 per month ensuring that before the end of the year, 2025, a total of 2100 of them would be employed to the State Civil Service.
The Governor said, “I believe this period is a test for us because we lost 23 people, 10 civilians and around 13 vigilantism members. We are here on behalf of the government and Bauchi states to sympathize with this community. Alkaleri communities, especially Gwana, Yelwa-Duguri and part of the local government Bauchi.”

According to him, “So the loss is not that only our people are killed. Our rooms, our security forces also destroyed more than 60 of them. This is to show the Ksatria and the courage of our people apart from the power of their superior fires, we can hold them through young and capable guards who are marked with this heart and security agent.”
The Governor further stated that, “And I want to convey to you, the Federal Government Commissioner, especially the National Security Advisory Office. We will get a lot of assistance from the security institution more than what we got before.”
Bala Mohammed further reprimanded the community to be aware of the informant, stating “they are people who give us a way.
“They are people who won us and they live with us. They are worse than criminals and bad people who come from other places.
“I will order the district head, the village head and other leaders in the line to see and lure these people so that we can handle them firmly through security agents,” he added.
Also speaking, the Chairperson of the LGC Alkaleri Executive, Hassan Garba Bajama stated an award for the rapid response of the state government for the incident by saying that it had given people hope.
