Gov Eno said he dumped PDP for APC to avoid ‘traffic jams and holes’ for Akwa Ibom

Governor Umo Eno from the state of Akwa Ibom has broken his silence over his new purchase from the people’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the Congress of All Progressive (APC), calling on residents to ignore critics and describe their decisions as one taken for the best interests of the state.

Speaking to the crowd at Victor Attah International Airport after returning from a trip to France on Wednesday, Governor Eno equated with a driver who knew the best route for a smooth trip.

“The problem of the state of Akwa Ibom. I am in the driver’s seat today. I hold the steering wheel, and I know where there will be no traffic jams. I know where there will be no holes. That’s why I chose to take Akwa Ibom on the toll road – free of traffic and pothole.

The governor also rubbed those who condemned their political steps, stating that many critics were not even from the state and did not have an interest in their affairs.

“So, for those who speak – some of them not even from Akwa Ibom – they put their mouths in what they don’t have concern. Please, don’t listen to them. This progressive movement is in my rights!” he said.

Governor Eno further explained that his defector was not an act of betrayal, but a strategic decision to harmonize the country with national leadership and secure more opportunities for development.

“And for people who think we have no choice, tell them that I have used my rights, and that it is our right to freely get along. Let’s stay focused, because when you pursue an elephant, you don’t let the dog stop you on the road,” he said.

He reiterated his commitment to the intended unity, peace and leadership, adding that his mission was spiritually inspired.

The Governor stated: “We will remain focused, peaceful, and unite in our support for the Ball President Ahmed Tinubu and the President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio.”

Meanwhile, Chairman of the State APC, Obong Stephen Naturekpo, threw his weight behind the governor, describing criticism of buyers as baseless.
