Governor Buni suspends local council chairman over violations in Yobe

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has approved the suspension of the Chairman of Machina local government in the state, Idrissa Bukar-Machina.

Bukar-Machina was sworn in along with the chairmen of 16 other LGAs on June 10.

Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mallam-Wali, who announced the development in a statement on Tuesday in Damaturu, said the chairman was suspended for misconduct.

He has been ordered to hand over council affairs to his deputy.
