Governor Obaseki is a liar from the pit of hell. Kai, politics is evil
By Kassim Afegbua.
I just read what was attributed to Governor Obaseki as the reason he gave for breaking away from Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, and wondered why an executive governor would tell such outright lies just to score a cheap political point. It is a sign of terrible character for Governor Obaseki to raise such an underhanded reason as justification for his break with Comrade Adams Oshiomhole. Governor Obaseki is not even the slightest bit intelligent.
Chief Tony Anenih of blessed memory passed away on October 28, 2018 at the age of 85, but Governor Obaseki’s political spats with Comrade Oshiomhole started in late 2017, by February 2018 they had become so visible and almost irreconcilable. I vividly remember personally meeting Governor Obaseki at his Commercial Avenue residence on May 18, 2018 in an attempt to bring them together, after a series of failed reconciliations by Alhaji Aliko Dangote and a couple of other governors.
At the May 18, 2018 meeting, I confronted Governor Obaseki about why he had fallen out with Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, his benefactor. He had told me explicitly that he just wanted to be his own man. He had shown an aspect of his ethnic chauvinism when he uttered the following words: “that little man from that little village of Iyamho, he cannot run the show”. I remember asking him at what point he suddenly realised that his benefactor was a “little man” and from “that little village” because I remembered him always carrying Comrade Oshiomhole’s bag with him whenever they travelled. At that point, his demeanour changed. I insisted that I would put together a team of ten mutual friends to meet and sort out the matter. He indulged me that evening before I left for Abuja the following day.
When I arrived in Abuja, I met Comrade Oshiomhole and told him about my meeting with Governor Obaseki. He was willing to attend the meeting but doubted whether the governor was sincere in his statement. But on the evening of May 19, Governor Obaseki called me to inform me that he was no longer registering for the meeting and that I should cancel it. When I called Comrade Oshiomhole to inform him of the governor’s order against the meeting, he told me that he would be surprised if the governor was available for the meeting.
This is how I postponed the meeting. Chief Tony Anenih died on October 28, 2018, almost a year after the political differences began. So, it is the height of impiety and diabolical intentions for Governor Obaseki to refer to the state burial of Chief Anenih as the cause of his differences with Comrade Oshiomhole. He wants to profit from the death of Chief Anenih for political reasons. What a character!. I am ashamed to hear this, to read this. Imagine the height of desperation just to implant a godson, when he once quarreled with the idea of godfather. What kind of leader is Governor Obaseki? Who profits from the dead?
