Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said each Corps member leaving the state camp will receive a token of N100,000, while NYSC support staff will receive a sum of N100 million.
He made this known during his speech as the Special Guest of Honour at the NYSC Graduation Parade/Closing Ceremony for members of the I Corps of the Class of 2024 “B” Stream, which held at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja on Tuesday.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also announced a commitment of N5 billion for the construction of a permanent site for the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp in the state.
He said: “This year alone, I will make available a total of N5 billion which will be used to kick-start the full development of the NYSC permanent site.
“For this batch, we have 4,254, and with all sense of responsibility and because you have worked very hard, each of you will go home with N100,000; the money will be made available in your accounts by next week, and your administrators will credit your account.”
The governor was accompanied by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende
