Aaron Hickey returns to the Scottish team for the first time in almost two years when the qualifications of the World Cup begin with a double leader away against Denmark and Belarus next month.

The 23 -year -old Brentford full -back has made two appearances as a substitute for the Premier League in recent weeks, having been out of combat since October 2023.

The last of his 14 international chapels arrived in the same month.

Ryan Christie, Ben Gannon Doak and Lyndon Dykes also returned after significant injuries.

The goalkeeper of the Heart Zander Clark could be the favorite to take gloves, since Angus Gunn and Liam Kelly are the second choice respectively for Nottingham Forest and Rangers.

The Blackburn Rovers Dominic Hyam defender, limited once as late in June 2023, is remembered by the manager Steve Clarke, while the teenager Lennon Miller, now in Udinese, retains his place after playing in summer friendlies against Iceland and Liechtenstein.

The inclusion of the nineteen -year -old means four of the eight midfielders listed are based in Serie A.

Kieron Bowie started the season for Hibernian well and the 22 -year -old striker has another opportunity after making his debut from the bench against Liechtenstein in June.

Scotland goes to Copenhagen on September 5 and meets Belarus in Hungary three days later.
