The chief coach of the national senior team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has revealed how he became the coach of the national senior team of Nigeria after leaving his position as Mali coach, reports Owngoalnigeria.com.

Chelle took over the Super Eagles for the first time in March after this confirmation as a coach in January. Until now he has led the team in just two games, which is the 2-0 victory to Rwanda and the 1-1 draw at home against Zimbabwe.

It will be in charge of May when they participate in the innovational tournament of the four teams in London with the quartet of Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Ghana.

The coach explained in a television interview how he defeated the best coaches of a short list of five men to become the new coach of the Super Eagles, and how he left his job in MC Oran due to Nigerian work.

“Well, listen, when I left Maliens’s national team, there was a call for NFF requests, the Nigerian Federation. So, I requested, like any other coach,” he explained.

“There was a process, a short list came out with four or five names, and there were some renowned coaches. I had an interview, a videoconference where I presented my project, my vision, my philosophy.

*I thought it would happen much faster, but the events meant that I had to wait. So I went to Oran [in Algeria]. Immediately, I told my president and the Board in Oran that this opportunity [with Nigeria] It could arise, because I always thought I could.

And finally, it happened “,

He went further to explain how the Algerian team reacted to his decision to leave the Club for Super Eagles work.

“The Club in Oran was very stable about it and let me go to this great project. We had been in discussion from the call to applications.

“I did not understand why I was taking so long, and then everything accelerated very fast, in a week.

“I told my bosses there [in Oran]And created a great buzz. But no, again, I was aligned with what I wanted to do, I had no particular problem, and now I am really enjoying my time in this country and with this group. “
