Eddie Howe has been diagnosed with pneumonia after being admitted to the hospital last weekend.
Newcastle confirmed the latest news about the English manager on Monday, adding that he will not be on the bench for the next two team games.
Howe had been absent from training last week and Newcastle’s 4-1 victory over Manchester United on Sunday was lost.
And while he recovers from his illness, he will not be present for the clash of the Newcastle Premier League at home in Crystal Palace on Wednesday night, as well as his confrontation in Aston Villa on Saturday.
“Newcastle United can announce that Eddie Howe is recovering at the hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia,” said a club statement (according to Talksport).
“The club continues to extend its best wishes and support for Eddie and his family while continuing his recovery.
“Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will lead the team against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa this week, with more updates to be communicated in due time.”
Howe said: “A great thanks to all those who connect with Newcastle United and the broader soccer community for their messages and warm desires. They have meant a lot to me and my family.
“I also want to pay tribute to our incredible NHS and the hospital staff that has treated me. I am immensely grateful for the specialized care I receive and, after a period of recovery, I hope to return as soon as possible.”
The 47 -year -old man entered the hospital on Friday night after feeling bad earlier.
