I almost lost my mind when I found out my brother Peter had filed a petition against me —Jude Okoye

Jude Okoye, the elder brother of P Square’s twin brothers has revealed that he almost went crazy when he learned that his younger brother Peter Okoye had filed a petition against him before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Peter had earlier stated that he discovered his brother Jude Okoye had set up a “secret company” and was sending money to the company from their joint venture, which was the reason he petitioned the EFCC.

While denying the claims made by Peter in a video shared on Instagram, Jude insisted that his companies are not hidden and, despite having joint ventures with his brothers, each of them also has private companies, with Peter owning P-Classic and Paul owning Rude Boy Records.

Speaking about the petition he (Peter) filed with the EFCC, he said Peter never contacted him to ask about the company he claimed he had just discovered.

He went on to say that before Jude learned of Peter’s filing of the petition, Peter had visited his house, played with his son, and appeared to be in good health, only to receive an invitation from the EFCC office a few days later.

Jude said; “This guy came to my housing complex to play with my child, he knew very well that he had just filed a petition against me. I almost went crazy.”

Regarding Paul’s involvement, Jude explained that in order to protect himself, he had to file a petition against P-Square. This way, the anti-corruption organization would verify that Jude did not cheat Peter and Paul out of the money in his account.

He said: “I can file a petition against P-Square because that is the only way I can defend myself.

“They were all too busy focusing on my account to see what Peter alleged I was receiving as P-Square royalties. I couldn’t get them to focus on their accounts to see proof that what I was receiving, they were also receiving their share of.”

Jude noted that the EFCC case was still pending and that the Commission had been very thorough. He also said that the money he withdrew from their account was legally his according to the sharing formula they had agreed upon.

“You said that I took the money that was rightfully mine. You get your royalties when they are due, you split them into three, Paul gets his own, he splits them into three, I get mine, I split them into three.

“P-Square has a problem, you stop sharing. I told Paul, stop sharing too, let everyone keep what they got and it’s been like that for over four and a half years.

“P-Square reunited, I did a noble thing, I brought it back into the group again, and everyone continued to share again.

“But up to now, two and a half years after they came back, Paul still won’t share, Peter still won’t share. They understand, they keep it to themselves. I said ‘it’s okay, let me get on with my life’. I still ended up in the EFCC,” he concluded.
