The National Chairperson of the Democratic Party (PDP) Ag, Iliya Damagun has stated that he did not refer to the former Governor of State Osun in his BBC service interview.
In a statement by Nuru Shehu Jos, his
Personal Assistant, he stated that, “Our attention has been focused on the article written badly by Yemi Kainji, about this problem above, where he misundulated the Acting Chairperson of the Democratic Party (PDP), the Ambassador of the Damagun Party, with the intention to deceive party stakeholders and causing a new crisis in the party in the party, with party stakeholders and causing a new crisis in the party in the party.
He further wrote, “For the record, let it confirm that Yemi Kainji and other crime makers must understand that the National Work Committee (NWC), is capable of being led by the Acting Chairperson, Ambassador Umar Damagun, has a constitutional mandate to form a committee and overcome party problems.”
“To straighten out: NWC has never made a disciplined committee to be chaired by the former Governor of State Osun, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola,” he added.
According to him, “The two standing committees formed by NWC are:
The Reconciliation Committee, chaired by Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and the Disciplinary Committee, which is chaired by the Head of Tom Ikimi. Both committees operate fully and have issued their mandate as assigned by NWC. “

“It is unfortunate that people who have repeatedly have dinner and won with the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, now those who mistakenly accuse the Ambassador of Damagun with Wike,” he added.
According to him, “Committees as arrangements to carry out their responsibilities independently, are free from disturbance or coercion. Ambassador Damagun is a principle and disciplined administrator who respects the independence of the committee and does not interfere in the delegated assignment.
He stressed that, “Therefore, the national chairman who acted, the Ambassador Damagun, did not call Olagunsoye Oyinlola as reported by the dispersions.
