The famous broadcaster based in Ibadan, Oriyomi Hamzat, has openly distanced himself from the claim that connects it to the ownership of the viral political slogan, “Oyo n Pe O” (which means “Oyo calls you”), while discussing the increasing speculation of his involvement in the 2027 election.
In direct streaming on Instagram on Monday, executive chief Agidigbo 88.7 FM rejected formal relations with the slogan and pushed back on what he described as a political attack aimed at preventing potential candidacy.
“They (Politicians) Don’t want a radio presenter, they don’t believe in a radio or television personality. They want somebody with them. If Truly Oyo people are calling me, will I be the one to the contest for senator, state representative, or representative? (ORIYOMI) Contest, if I will win, I will, and if I also lose, it will happen.
Hamzat stressed that while many supporters had asked him about participating in political positions, he did not make such a declaration-even though the campaign-style poster that reads his silhouette appeared throughout Ibadan with the phrase “2027 oyo n pe o.”

Because people came to ask if I would participate, would I tell them that I would fight? But people who want to choose are ready. I did not leave my job to start campaigning even though I saw many who had done that. But you know that during my election, some people are waiting where I will not leave. he said.
He accused that his critics – especially politicians – were behind the reaction due to fears of popularity and the influence of the grassroots.
“Politicians who, because of their greed, deny my friend (grassroots) tickets to compete are those behind these scary attacks. This is the attitude of protecting people who will do well in the state so they can force us, and this is what people do not want.
Reaffirming that the movement belonged to people and not him personally, he added, “the people ‘oyo n pe o’ not me. If people say they want me, I will be available.”
The controversy grew further after a critic challenged Hamzat online, warning him not to trust voters.
The critic said, “Don’t listen to those who say Oyo calls Oriyomi Hamzat. They just lie.
Even though you help the masses, don’t rely on them that when it is the selection time, they will choose you. They won’t. Don’t let them deceive you. Even in the area where your radio station is, if the politician takes the money there, you will lose the voting unit. It is true that you are a good person and meet the requirements, but the masses will not choose you. “
Hamzat dismissed criticism, maintaining that such despair will not affect his beliefs or decisions in the future.
When political tension was built before 2027, Hamzat remained in the spotlight – not for any formal declaration, but for the increasing waves of public associations with a movement that he insisted was not owned.
