Former Delta Niger militant and volunteer leader Niger Delta People, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, have stated that he will no longer support the Yoruba politician because they have betrayed him and the Jawi people.
In a video shared on the social media platform on Monday, Dokubo insisted that he was now politically in harmony with politicians from Northern Nigeria because they were not traitors like their Joruba colleagues.
Former militants accused Yoruba and Elite politicians turned against their old allies from Delta Niger after politically benefited from them.
“The Yorubas has betrayed us. Besides, what we did, they turned back to us,” Dokubo said in the video.
Comtuinug, he stated that given the recent political arrangement and what he considered as a lack of loyalty from the southwest, he felt more positioned to build a strategic alliance with northern leaders, which he claimed had shown more consistency and respect.
“The sacrifice of the past carried out by Ijaw for southern solidarity was not replied,” he said.
He referred to political cooperation during the previous election and the battle of government as a moment where Ijaw stood Teguh for the south, only to be left in cold.
