ICPC Arraigns Former Court Staff for Alleged Fraud N9.2M

Independent Corruption Practices and Other Related Violation Commissions (ICPCs) have charged former appeal court staff, Munirat Abdulazeez, at the Federal Capital High Court, Bwari, for alleged work fraud.

ICPC spokesman, Demola Bakare, who revealed this in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, said Abdulazeez appeared in court after the arrest warrant was issued against him for avoiding the previous process.

The defendant served in the appeal court from 2018 and 2023.

According to Bakare. The defendant was involved in cheating work schemes by promising false employment opportunities at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (Nimasa), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

He added that Abdulazeez was suspected of obtaining a total of N9.2 million from eight job seekers who were not suspicious between July 2022 and September 2023.

He, however. Claiming to be innocent for the accusation of two counts.

Following his request, the ICPC adviser, Hamza Sani, asked the court to maintain the previous fixed date on June 13, 2025, so that the prosecution would give witnesses.

Justice Godwin Iheabunke guarantees the defendant in the same N10 million sunlight and two supersies in the same amount.

He postponed this problem until June 20 for hearing.
